Ruth demonstrates chocolate and pastry recipes at Asia’s top culinary show.
Ruth’s international culinary career takes her to many fascinating events, including the ‘lifestyle gastronomic extravaganza’ that is Gourmet Abu Dhabi. This multi-cultural celebration of all things tasty was launched in 2009, and is the most prestigious culinary exhibition in Asia.
Ruth was invited to be part of an amazing line-up of Michelin-starred and celebrity chefs hosted for two weeks by the capital’s top hotels. On the menu were culinary demonstrations, dinners with Hollywood stars, and the chance to taste some of the finest dishes in the world.
Ruth was one of five international pastry chefs selected to demonstrate at Gourmet Abu Dhabi. On arriving in Abu Dhabi, she was surprised and somewhat bemused to find floor-to-ceiling banners of herself positioned at various hotels in the city.
For the event itself, Ruth prepared a selection of her favourite chocolate and pastry recipes, including a passionfruit & white chocolate gateaux, and made desserts for 500 VIP delegates. Each of Ruth’s demos attracted large audiences keen to learn recipes, techniques and insights from her 25-year career.
Ruth was invited by the organisers to return the following year.
