Home to UK World Chocolate Master, Ruth Hinks, Cocoa Black is located near the banks of the River Tweed in the Royal Burgh of Peebles, near Edinburgh. Housed in a stand alone grade 2 listed building, the chocolatier & patisserie is located on the ground floor with the new Chocolate & Pastry School located above. The Cocoa Black building boasts stunning views of Peebles and the surrounding area, and has generous parking to the rear.
Each morning, Ruth and her team of chocolatiers and pastry chefs begin work at 5:00am preparing Cocoa Black's selection of luxury handmade chocolates, cakes and patisserie which are also available to order from our online shop. If Ruth's schedule permits, she can often be seen at the shop chatting with customers over a coffee. From then on, it's over to shop manager, Debbie Brockwell and her friendly staff to ensure your experience at Cocoa Black is an enjoyable one.
Since being named UK Confectioner of the Year in 2011, Cocoa Black has welcomed many well known faces. Recent visitors to Cocoa Black include HRH Prince Edward and world champion cyclist, Mark Cavendish MBE. HRH Prince Edward also spent an afternoon rolling chocolate truffles with Ruth at the Chocolate & Pastry School.
